Have you just got a puppy or are you thinking of getting one?
As with most things it is very important to introduce your puppy to the grooming environment from an early age. This will allow them to bond with their groomer and ensure each visit to the groomers is a positive experience.
Some breeds are less maintenance in regards to grooming but may simply need their nails trimmed. Others require grooming on a regular basis from as early as after their last set of injections.
It is recommended that dogs that require regular grooming have their first hair cut around 4-5 months of age. Their adult coat will have grown through and may cause the hair to knot more easily.
